The KD‑Z series intelligent low‑voltage power capacitors are a next‑generation reactive power compensation device designed for 0.4 kV low‑voltage distribution networks, delivering high efficiency and energy savings, reducing line losses, and improving the power factor and power quality. They consist of an intelligent measurement and control unit, a synchronous switching circuit, a line protection unit, and low‑voltage power capacitors. These units replace conventional automatic reactive power compensation systems that rely on discrete components—such as smart controllers, fuses, composite switches or mechanical contactors, thermal relays, low‑voltage power capacitors, and indicator lights—wired together inside and on the surface of switchgear cabinets. By eliminating the bulky, unwieldy design of traditional systems, this new generation of low‑voltage reactive power compensation equipment offers superior compensation performance, a more compact footprint, lower power consumption, reduced costs, greater cost savings, enhanced flexibility in application, simplified maintenance, extended service life, and higher reliability, thereby meeting the increasingly stringent requirements of modern power grids for reactive power management.

● Rated voltage levels (kV): 0.23, 0.25, 0.4, 0.45, 0.48, 0.525;
● Rated capacity (kVAR): 5–40;
● Tangent of the loss angle (tan δ): ≤0.1% (at Un, 50 Hz, 20 °C);
● Inter-electrode withstand voltage: 2.15Un for 5 seconds, with no permanent breakdown or flashover;
● Shell withstand voltage: 2Un + 2 kV (for voltages below 3 kV, use 3 kV) for 10 seconds, with no breakdown or flashover;
● Maximum allowable voltage: At 1.0Un, no more than 8 hours per 24-hour period; at 1.15Un, no more than 0.5 hour per 24-hour period; at 1.2Un, no more than 300 seconds; at 1.3Un, no more than 60 seconds;
● Maximum permissible current: The capacitor may operate continuously at 1.3In; taking into account overvoltage, positive capacitance deviation, and harmonic effects, the transient current shall not exceed 1.35In.
● Discharging device: After the power supply is disconnected for 180 seconds, the capacitor voltage drops below 50 V.
● Employs synchronous switching and zero-crossing commutation, eliminating inrush current; fully controllable.
● Ambient temperature: -40~+50°C
● The installation location shall be free from severe mechanical vibrations, harmful gases and vapors, and conductive or explosive dust.
● Continuous operating voltage: 1.0Un; the maximum long-term overvoltage shall not exceed 1.1Un.
● Steady-state overcurrent (including harmonic currents) shall not exceed 1.35In.
